Daddy's Pride / Basketball

  • Basketball Not Boring

A long, long, long time ago when our son was just born, I use to put him to sleep by watching basketball games. I would just hold him while watching the game, and he would easily doze off. I think basketball ball games kind of bored him. Well, I recently started to doing that again, such as last night. I tried to put him to bed while watching the New York Knicks play to get him to fall asleep, but he just stayed awake. He stared at the people running around as they were passing and shooting the orange ball. My goal of trying to bore him back fired. I guess he now might be interested in basketball.

  • Soccer

As I mentioned before, I love watching sports; basketball, football, baseball, and tennis. Many times my son gives me company while I watch the games. However, I wonder if I am guiding him to only watch and perhaps play sports that I watch. Maybe he likes something else? Maybe its time for me to start watching more of other sports such as soccer. I think he would really enjoy this. Let’s give it a shot. Maybe one day, he will be a professional soccer player….you never know.

  • Bounce Back

Last night I twisted my ankle playing basketball. It was pretty painful, but I just sucked it up, walked it off, and continued playing. I wonder how my son will react when getting hurt. • NBA Package

For those that don’t know me, I am a huge basketball fan. I try to watch NBA games as much as I can. At the moment, my cable provider has given me a free 10 day taste of their sports package. This includes all NBA games! So, for the past week my son and I have been watching all the teams play until 2am every night. Thank you Comcast! I think they should start marketing their package to future fathers that need to stay up at night taking care of their babies.

  • All-Star

I have joined a recreational basketball league, and I look forward to my evening games. I enjoy the friendly competition and physical challenge of the game. It makes me think about what sports my son will like to play. Will he like a team sport like basketball or an individual sport like tennis? Will he like a sport that I have no experience with such as ice hockey or lacrosse? Will I be able to keep up with him in sports or will he dominate me as I get older. I look forward to playing sports with the little guy and watching his games. I know he will be an all-star in his parents eyes whatever sport he plays.
