Daddy's Pride / Halloween
Oct 31, 2014
I would have to say that celebrating the little man's 3rd birthday and halloween makes a great week. The little man loved it. And guess what....??....both my wife and I had a great time too! :) We all ate cake and candy, and dressed up as spiderman (son), a cat (mom), and a pumpkin (dad). As I mention here and there on my blog, having a child makes us feel like kids. This was just one of those weeks where you forget that my wife and I are actually adults. Happy birthday to my son! And happy Halloween to all!

I use to wonder who let their children wear costumes in the park, and why did this happen? Well, now I don't anymore. Now I completely understand. :) Last week we let our son be the boy behind the mask. We let him wear his costume in public weeks before Halloween so he gets comfortable in it. We are making sure he does not have a meltdown like last year's Halloween where he threw his costume on the floor. And my wife and I don't want to be the parents who get dressed up for this day when their own child is in street clothes. :) So, this year, we double checked, and will probably triple check that the Spider-Man costume will be okay for the big day. So far so good. Let's see how it goes next week.

This year the little man was "suppose" to be a dinosaur for Halloween. We envisioned him wearing a cute green dinosaur costume while making "roar" sounds. However, he destroyed our plans...literally. :) The moment we put the outfit on him, he ripped it off like he was transforming from Clark Kent to Superman. Our green monster had no plans on celebrating Halloween, except for eating chocolate. So, the best we could do was take a picture of him staring at his costume. And I am sure if he had the ability to generate heat vision like Superman, I would not even be able to show his Halloween gear. I guess next year my wife and I will get the boss' approval before selecting his outfit. Lesson learned the hard way. :)

Happy Halloween! We took our son trick or treating the day before the storm. Our curious monkey was more interested in the leaves than candy. However, we did manage to visit a few of the neighbors.

My wife and I have been talking about what our son should be for the Halloween. She wants him to be something cute, as I was thinking of him being something scary. However, she made a good point....we have only a few years to dress him up cute and cuddly. As he gets older, like most boys, he may choose to be a scary monster or a super hero. We will not get a vote at that time. So I gave in, and now we are brain storming on cute costumes for our son. I definitely will veto pumpkin or strawberry.
