Daddy's Pride / Winter

  • Ski Season is Over

Ski season is almost done. So this past weekend the little man had to get his final ski run before all the snow melts away. He did a good job his first year skiing. He behaved on the ski lift, conquered the first mountain, and fought through 10 degrees temperatures. Because of all these things that he learned, I am already looking forward to next winter to seeing him improve. :) Now we have to figure out what to do for the next 9 months until we can hit the slopes. I think we can figure something out. :)

  • Giant Snowman

The other day while walking, my wife, son and I came across a giant snowman. It was more than 8 feet tall! I guess when you accumulate enough snow like we have this past winter, all snowmen should be built giant size. I am sure whoever created this master piece had a lot of fun, and I hope my son was inspired by all the hard work. Perhaps next year, the little man will be gung-ho in creating his own ice sculpture.

  • Snow Gear

Another snowstorm is going to hit us this week! We have had plenty of snow this year, and I am hoping it's the last one. On a positive note, my son has been well educated in what to wear when playing outside in the snow. And I think this weekend he will feel as though we are not forcing him to wear his snow gear which includes; snow pants, bubble jacket, boots, mittens, and a hat. I think he will just enjoy putting on the layers of clothes. Let's see how it goes. :)

  • Little Snow Plower

This past weekend we had some snow which required us to take out the shovel and do some hard labor. Before we went outside, my wife and I decided that our son should play in the snow while we clean up the drive way. We bundled him up, and told him to go play outside. Once we started plowing the snow, our son decided that he rather help us instead of playing in the snow. So, we had to teach him how to get rid of the snow. His enthusiasm to helping us was great. Our little snow plower is already adapted to New Hampshire winters.

  • Snowstorm Aftermath

My wife and I took our son to the center of town to show him Snowstorm Nemo's aftermath. Here's a picture of him next to a pile of snow. As parents we are always wondering what our son is thinking. In this case, he must be wondering where did all this white fluffy stuff come from, and how come my parents don't want me to eat it?

  • Blizzard Nemo

Due to Blizzard Nemo, our plans are pretty simple this weekend. Just play in the snow, watch movies, and eat comfort food. For us this is the perfect way to spend our Saturday and Sunday. Also, ironically, this winter storm will get our 15 month old son to play outdoors, and not be stuck inside the house. When it snows, it always seems to be warmer. So, I expect the little eskimo to run around like a mad man in his winter gear, and hopefully, once he's done playing all he wants to do is eat and sleep.

  • Snowballs

We received plenty of snow this past week, and my son has conveniently started to say the word "Outside". I guess that means only one thing....we should play in the snow this weekend. So, I'm looking forward to this and seeing if I can teach my son to throw snowballs.

  • Plastic Snowman

Even though we have already received plenty of snow this year, it hasn't been enough to actually make a snowman. So, this past weekend our son came across his first snowman. It was fun to see him stare and analyze his new finding.

  • Too Cold!

This past weekend we just stayed indoors because it was freezing outside, and we didn't want the little man to catch a cold. So, here are a few things we did to entertain our son. 1. Watched Curious George, and some other PBS cartoon shows. 2. Played soccer 3. Wrestled 4. Tried to read to him 5. Played hide and seek Also, tried to increase his vocabulary. :)

  • Warm Weather

We wanted to take our son out earlier today for a stroll, but it was freezing outside. I believe it was 15 degrees Fahrenheit. So we opted to just stay indoors. We did not want our son to freeze and catch a cold. So, it will still be a while before the weather becomes warmer to take the little one out, however I just can’t wait. It’s going to be a lot of fun taking him to the park, beach, and city, or at least around the block. Dear warm weather, please come soon!

  • Text Message We Recieved

Here is a text message we received from my son’s aunt. “You know according to Bhagavad Gita when lord Krishna was born, he brought heavy winds and storms. So did my nephew Rohan bring the heavy snow and cause power outages throughout the east coast??!! Is he going to be as divine, powerful, and a playboy as Krishna?:))” Only time will tell what super powers my son will have. It seems he already has divine power over his mommy. All he has to do is squeal, and she jumps to serve his needs. I wish I had that power.
